Until now, we have mainly released super popular mechas such as 1/100 Vifam, 1/48 Zakar, and 1/60 Galian, but the series took too much energy to develop, so the series was suspended for a while. It was. In addition, 1/100 L-Gaim was released once as an event-limited item in 2008, and if we were to commercialize it again with a completely new prototype, we wanted to make it the definitive version, so we decided to release it in the EEE series. .

Highlight ① About the leg cylinder |
Many people will point out the features of L-Gaim, such as the legs, the random slate opening and closing, and the movable cylinder inside. For this product, in order to reproduce the part that shines silver when the cylinder extends, a specially designed aluminum shaft is custom-made, and the pipe parts are also custom-made from brass to allow for even smoother expansion and contraction. Also, when linking the cylinder expansion and contraction with ankle movement, it tended to interfere and limit the ankle's range of motion, so we created a gimmick after verifying the structure.

Highlight ② About the spiral flow storage gimmick |
Speaking of L-Gaim, the sequence where the transformed Spiral Flow is stored in the chest is also a highlight, so recreating this gimmick was also an essential task. A sliding gimmick on the head for storing the storage gimmick, and an interlocking gimmick on the base that receives the spiral flow. We are reproducing it so that it is not difficult to make while giving priority to appearance.

Highlight ③ About the head light emitting gimmick |
I was wondering if there was a way to recreate the scene where the glass-like inside of the head glows, but I couldn't think of a good idea, so I kept working on the prototype while shelving it. As the prototype was nearing completion, Mr. Misaki, who had been involved with Styling Works since the middle of the project, came up with the idea of using a commercially available small LED with an integrated battery. The idea is to recreate the light-emitting gimmick by creating a photo-etched plate with holes punched out for the glowing parts and covering it with smoked clear parts. There is a dividing line in the design of the top of the head, so by making this part removable, the structure allows for easy replacement when the battery runs out without compromising the appearance of the design.

Regarding the front panel, we received a suggestion from Mr. Yagyu, one of the prototype production staff, ``If we were to make it into a kit now, let's use clear parts here to give it a solar panel-like expression!'' and we recreated it. The uniform details unique to digital modeling are applied, and the surface of the prototype is also thoroughly polished. Also, on the back side, two power launchers, an S mine, a spare saber, and a lancer can be attached as per the settings.

In this kit, we were particular about reproducing the hands unique to heavy metal. We also received the opinion from Mr. Misaki, ``Since this is a resin kit whose sculpting is not influenced by cutting out (production circumstances), let's pursue the unique balance and design of heavy metal, as if wearing gloves,'' and we adopted it. Masu. Mr. Ichino, who was in charge of the entire prototype production, uses the digital precision modeling as the basis, and details such as seams and wrinkles are all hand-crafted by Mr. Misaki himself.

Highlight ⑥ About Land Booster “Light” |
The storage form of Land Booster “Light” can also be reproduced. The wings are folded downward and the storage of the upper intake is movable. The lower nozzle was not made movable due to size issues, but when it is stored, it is reproduced using recombinant parts.

Highlight 7: Abundant optional parts |
Special hand parts include a gripping hand, two types of open hands, a hand for holding Saber or Lancer, and bonus hands for those who want to hold their own Buster Launcher on the left and right sides. As for armament, in addition to 2 power launchers, 3 sets each of S mine, saber, and 2 types of lancers are included. Furthermore, the spiral flow, which is a delicate and ultra-small part in two types, normal form and storage form, and the plug at the end of the power launcher cable are made of white metal and are included.

Lastly...In creating this kit, we spent the most energy styling the whole body. As someone in charge of development, I used to have the impression that ``heavy metal should be made slender,'' but this time I started by exploring the image that fans would have had in mind at the time of the broadcast, and tried to overcome various preconceptions. I tried not to get too caught up in that. From the three-view drawing to the collection of poses, not to mention the numerous setting illustrations, from the impressive opening to the main anime, I have reviewed L-Gaim in the play many times. After listening to the opinions of many talented modelers and making countless trial and error adjustments, we finally reached completion. We are currently in the process of producing a finished sample product, so the full reveal will be on February 2th, so please look forward to it!

How did you like the special feature just before the release of EEE L-Gaim? No matter how many times I repeat trial and error, I feel like there's still something I can do...Every time the thought crosses my mind, I think, ``Let's consider making some changes,'' and I slowly move forward.
